Visitando Iglesias, yo???

25 Dec

Paris, romanticismo o no? L’amour…

6 Oct

Originalmente, iba a visitar Paris sola.

Don’t say “No” to any opportunity that knocks your door

7 Oct

Some time ago, I received an email saying that I was randomly selected to participate on the selection process to go to a Project Management Workshop in Panama.

The requirement was to fill a form with my project management experience information on previous projects I managed. At the beginning I thought ” There are tons of people with lots of experience, why bother?”..and then I closed the email, and continue with my stuff.

A week later before the deadline to submit the papers, I decided to take it a shot and see what happens. I remembered that if something is meant for you it will happen, right?.   So why saying “No” in advance, without even trying. Guess what?!! I was selected and went for a weekend to Panama, all paid.

Sharing some pics of beautiful Panama for your enjoyment. The trip was not only work, there is always an opportunity to do something new.. every minute of my free time was well spent, visiting places, knowing new people, shopping or having a great dinner..

My personal best and worst dresses from the Oscars..

27 Feb

This is just based on my personal style and likes.. but my personal best and worst dresses from the Oscars are:

I like this black dress.

This is the best of the night for me

Lovely dress, it looks great on her.

Green is one of my favorite colors!! And Viola looks great on this one.

I love J Lo but this dress, I don't like it at all. Not sure if she wanted to emphatize certain areas, I just don't like it.

Okay, blue, gray and pink shoes??!! naahhh, didn't like it at all

It seems, for me, a wrapped dress.. it's a NO for me.

A little about me when I go shopping: I understand we have trends per season and clothes that are common in certain periods, but I believe, not necessarily those clothes are right for everyone.

When I go shopping, I like some pieces based on what I like, and if there are something trendy that I like, there you go, I will want to get it.  Also, I try to be conscious that sometimes some trendy clothes might not fit  me, so I just choose another option.

The dresses above are the ones that I liked the most and the ones I disliked.

By the way, about Emma’s red dress. I would rather prefer to make it simpler without the giant bow. I still think she looks gorgeous and sweet, but the bow does not convince me at all.

Hope you enjoyed the Oscar’s as much as I did.

Food and beach in south Peruland

24 Feb

I need to tell you all about the food and the beach during my visit in Peru. Every time I go to Peru, days run out and those do not suffice for everything I want to do.

Peru is recognized for its rich gastronomy so it has dishes from the different departments and regions (Coast, Highland and Tropical). I tried to get some of each region, so you can guess I got some extra weight back with me to Costa Rica.

So, back to the food, those two weeks in Peru I tried dishes such as ceviche, anticuchos, “choritos a la chalaca”, fried Chita (Special fish), etc. Look at them, and try to taste it:

Those dishes above were in a restaurant next to “Embajadores” beach, others in a pub name “ayahuasca” in Barranco, the bohemian district, and others, in a restaurant, a block from my house.

Breakfast, lunch or dinner are important events during the day when you take advantage to spend time with family and talk about everything.

Other ones in another restaurant:

All those dishes were in Huancahuasi restaurant that is about 30km south from Chorillos – Lima

The name dishes are:
– Tiradito de queso,
– Papa a la huancaina ( this is a typical dish that brings the original plate based on a red chilli and the one wish is based on the yellow chilli.. Both of them were mashed as old times using a special stone, we call it “batan”.),
– Ceviche but with this river fish wish is abundant in the hihglands, trout and with artichoke.
– Finally a highland soup, “Patasca”.

While we were waiting for our food, we enjoy a family game always available on those restaurants named “Sapo”(frog). It consist in throwing special and heavy coins into small holes at the top.. Based on the hole, you’ll get points. The maximum point can be gotten if you get the coin to get into the frog mouth which is at the center. It’s really funny!!

As this post title says food and beach, let me leave you with some other beach pictures and a video of the sunset in a beach in the south, name “Santa Maria” beach:

Beauty: face cleansing and face lifting

5 Feb

Well, I just want to share what I usually do every other Sunday to keep my face clean and hydrated.

So far, it’s been working pretty good for me and I love how fresh and vitalize my face skin looks after this. The effect last a while, as always as you keep with the daily care.

Today, I did it on the morning; however I recommend to do it at the afternoon, before bed, as it is recommend for you to leave your face with the product after you take the mask away.

From the list below, the only expensive product is the Sating Smooth, which cost me around 40-60 dollars (20 000 – 30 000 colones), I got it in Super Salon, Santa Ana-Costa Rica. The good thing is that it comes 3 masks for 3 applications; in my case that would be 3 months.

The other products you can get it in any market in Costa Rica. I usually get those in Auto Mercado.

Step 1 – Exfoliate your face with the product you usually use. This time I used Neutrogena, but as you see, it is almost over, so I would look for a new product to try.

Just put the product over your face and rub it in circles, then rinse it with warm water.

Step 2 – Put over your dried face, the mud pud bundantly, avoiding eyes and lips.  Usually each package last me for two applications, so you can use half.  Keep the product over your face until you feel it totally dry.

This product will help you cleaning your face from the everyday pollution. Also, this will give a kind of super clean and healthy look to your skin.

Step 3 – Rinse your face with warm water. This is important to open your pores which is good for the next product to better penetrate to your skin.

You can use some cotton pads to help it. I usually use full water, and only at the end use the cotton pad.

Step 4 – If this is a weekly face cleansing, i usually put my collagen cream from L’oreal or my Hydratant from La Roche-Possay (Effaclar M for oily skin).

If this is my monthly one, then I use the Satin Smooth mask, which is the one I am showing in the pic. You just need to put it, and leave it over your face for about 25 minutes, and then take it out and put it back on the package, as you will re-use it after 24 hours. In the second use, you can take all the liquid in the package and rub it over your face and neck. Remember you won’t rinse your face after this.

Hope you enjoy it and you decide to try it!

Important: Always read the details of the product, to check if you are not allergic to it. Or try it first in a small part of your skin.

Those products are the ones I used, and I personally haven’t had any problems.

Counting down the minutes for New Year’s Eve – Must Do List

30 Dec

Well, it seemed it was just yesterday my mom was here in Costa Rica to spend the Holidays together. Now this New Year has almost run out, few accomplishments might not been achieved as desired such as running a half-marathon, and some others are on road, almost ready for the last sprint to reach its end, such as my Portuguese Lessons.  Overall,  I can say it’s been a great year, and my soul feels peaceful,  joyful and grateful for everything.

Right now, we are counting down the minutes for New Year’s Eve and there is a Must-Do list I will need to accomplish at some point this year or by next weekend (the latest), because I will be flying to Peru on January 12th to spend some family time and attending one of my best friend’s weeding and bachelorette party, and those items needs to be arranged .   You see, this is the main reason I was not able to write anything lately, it’s been a little hectic. Besides all the questioning about prioritizing the hobbies, so it’s been quite busy days.

Let me tell you a bit on my Must-Do list.. you might laugh or find this funny, but Hey!! I am a girl too.. 🙂

Must Do (1) – exercising : I decided that among all hobbies, exercising is first!!! Running, Yogin or lifting weight is Okay, I just need to sort it out somehow when do those. I can report I went for I run and finished 5K run with 7.10 mins per KM. Not good as I wished but anyway, I am willing to pay the price for not doing exercises for a bit. Also, towards trying to lose some weight I did some Yoga, which I love it. I found this great youtube video that takes only 40 mins and that really makes you feel like a  true work out. But, the next day after the first attempt, I felt like a truck went over me because all my muscles were soared; however, I feel great and happy.  Today I did it again, so let’s see if I will be the same by tomorrow.  I am adding the link on the youtube video in case you want to try it. It is a 4 videos, within 8-10 mins each ( I am attaching the first two, you can easily get the other 2).

Must Do (2) – Get the party/wedding dresses and accessories. I don’t want to be in Peru and start looking for the dresses, so I need to have it all done. Fortunately, I got the dresses, but missing to accessorize it.. so I will do my best today to close this item.

Must Do (3) – Get the painter to finish the painting in the kitchen.. you see, he started 2 months ago, and only a little piece was missing, but after having the house clean again, i didn’t want it to get it dirty, and now, because of procrastination, I will need to do some cleaning by myself as the maid will not come this week. Lesson Learned-Stop procrastinating!!! Silly me.

Must Do (4) – Get the queratine in my hair and manicure/pedicure .. I told you I am a girl too!! And I just want to look gorgeous, all of us want to.. So I think I need to clean my house like in the next couple of hours in order to not spoil the manicure.. 🙂 Crap!.. having thought about it, just now.  I’ve read and see videos about queratine blow out, I actually had one a year ago, but was not totally sold. Right now, going for the second try, with this product two friends tried and it seemed it worked pretty cool. The product is INOAR, kind of expensive, but it has all the rights in USA also.. and you don’t need to have your hair 3 days without washing it. That was the selling point to try it. Let’s see how it goes… 🙂

Must Do (5) – Go to my friends house (Cin). She just bought a new house so I am going to go for the first time; i’ll need to get a gift or sth. Also I need to give her her scarf, she bought one..  Selling selling, money money..  love it!!

Must Do (6) – Finish my vision board. I KNOW!!! I love the secret too.. and I do believe on Vision Boards and the movement of the energy.  So I was reading Oprah website (i am guilty!, love Oprah –  I love that she focus on the positive things rather the negative ones), so I found this tool which is super cool to create the vision boards, totally recommended…. sharing the link below for you.  This is a demonstration, this month is all love and sharing..

http://www.oprah.com/odbimage/db_208158160_1

Must Do (7) – Finish reading my Book and knitting two scarves and beading two bracelets … I started reading a new book yesterday, from my favorite writer. I am half way, so for sure I will finish it within today and tomorrow. Also I have these two yarns I started and need to finish them, I just don’t bare to see those uncompleted scarves. And the bracelets!!.. well, a friend asked me for a couple of those, so I need to take those next week at some point because going to Peru.

Must Do (8) – Blogging.. In process.. I just enjoy writing, so it is a nice satisfaction to do it; besides while I write I enjoy this beautiful sigh seeing..This picture below is my view from my balcony where I am sitting, taking today at 11:30 AM. What else can I ask for with breathtaking daily view. I am very fortunate..

I am sure I have more Must Dos.. but right now, so far those are the ones I need to handle. So it’s time I start with some of those. I will share with you the outputs of some of those separately if possible, so you have the details. Enjoy your day and all the blessing.

Talk to you tomorrow!!

Updates updates updatesssss

26 Sep

So many new things that happened lately that haven’t had the chance to write about all these things.. the most important one is that the last 2 weekends I had great days, as I have many friends coming to my place and spending some time talking, eating, drinking and just having a good time. I forgot the feeling of having some friends come over have lunchs and dinners.

Another item, super important is that I got finally an stove, yeii!!  I did all my research on cost and functionality and what I wanted.. at the end it was the basic on what I wanted, which is a steel appliance and one “cheap” within its category.  So i got one from golfito, they delivered it in one day, so it was great!, i am very happy because my cooking days may come back!!   I am a liar, I don’t cook and I don’t like to cook, but from time to time, i may be feeling like cooking, so I am sure the stove will make it easier the experience. Besides, with a stove, my kitchen looks like a kitchen… everything is taking shape.

Well, there is an important factor or reason that I got this kitchen and the thing is that my mom arrived last Wednesday.. so you know what it means.. mom’s food, so I need to make her month easier here!!! and provide her the tools for cooking all the possible peruvian dishes within her month that she will stay here.  I know I am a spoiled daugther, i promise I will cook a dessert for her..

So this is bringing us to the other update that occur last weekend, mom arrived on Wednesday, I got around 20 mins late after her arrival, she was already outside the airport calling Hermes, asking him why I didn’t arrive to the airport.. she was already thinking the most dreadful things that might avoid me to get there on time.   Gosh!!.. I was working and needed to complete reviewing one document before leaving!!.. so when i finished and drove like crazy to the airport and when I got there, I saw her with another peruvian girl and an older guy. My mom was using the guy’s cell phone trying to call me. Once I got there, she was asking me what happened, and before letting me answered her, she said: ” I thought you were going to leave me here!!.. I had to call Hermes to reach you out!” and then, “let me introduce you to Karen, she is from Peru, she is a lawyer and will stay to this hotel bla bla bla, could you take her too?, and also, how much should I need to give the guy for lending me the cell phone”… OMG.. too many questions!! I was not able to react at all.. I wanted to feel the happiness on seeing my mom, but she started to shoot like a machine gun..and my brain sometimes is like a men, so one thought at a time.  You can imagine my surprise face, a big admiration sign!!

Well, I am really happy, she is here, the last time she came it was in January, so it is great she is back now.   Also she is really spoiling me .. it seems I am back to 5 years old.   Now the questions she is doing to me, is “what do you want for breakfast?, what do you want for lunch/dinner?, do you have a special friend?, I am going to be happy when you have someone.. do you have know a friend with benefits or something?!”, hahahaha. I cannot believe my mom do those many questions!!!…. What answer I gave to the last two questions, well .. i’ll tell you later. 😉  I am attaching a picture of her resting…

I believe I was able to catch up a little bit, there are more to come.. hope to have time to write soon.. My mom is internet addict and FB addict, so she is using the computer during my free time!

Wine nights..chiks nights..

16 Sep

Before telling you about this couple of nights, I just need to report that I’ve been going for a run every day since last Monday till Wednesday. I am very glad I am getting back to running after everything that happened. My muscles are getting better now and my mood is also getting better.  I just want to live one day at a time, and enjoy it fully, so doing my best.

What happened last Thursday that I didn’t go for a run as planned…well wine nights chiks nights and the big discovering on wine at a great price (thanks to Andre..great tip)….this means lots of wine for enjoying a nice conversations with chiks.. I believe after discovering this place, I made turn out being an alcoholic – OMG.  And as a first step, a 2lt bottle got dry in a blink.. it was only Mel and me drinking it, :S

Well, going back about Wednesday, I just had a great time with some friends from work.. had some antipasto and wine talking girly topics, what do we usually talk on a chik night???.. very easy and simple.. we talk about boobs, penis, sex, relation types, implants, books..jajajaja.. also we do plans that never happens.  This night we didn’t cover all the topics just a couple of those which were pretty much: planning birthdays and thinking to get some acquantance that could be a whatever for the girl on the right side.. maybe schedule some sort of blind date…

About  planning birthdays, well as you know we are on September/October, which are two of the months with more birthdays .. why?..because people go to parties on New Year’s Eve, Christmas, drink a lot and don’t use condoms because they are too drunk!!.. or maybe they are too relax, so the probability to get pregnant is higher, besides they don’t use condoms!.. I am one of those that need to be grateful with mommy for not using those or being so relax; otherwise I wouldn’t have had the pleasure to be on this sweet place called earth.. and experience this amazing gift called life.  So this year, from the 4 chiks that were together, 3 of those will be celebrating one more year within this and next month!..  It is important to mention that mommy is coming to Costa Rica, and she is also a Lybran!  We had some plans for celebrating the coming b-days, let’s see is those plans happens (barbecue, beach, party, drinks)..I’ll keep you posted.

Regarding tis sort of blind date, it is really difficult.. I don’t know much guys in Costa Rica, so it is going to be a challenge.. I was thinking that I may put an ad on craiglist to see if something come up..hahahaha. Ohh my friend will kill me if she reads this. The other option is to convince her to go to Peru where for sure, i’ll get someone… Just kidding.  We don’t know what would happen.. but we just talk nonsense..

On the next day, I woke up with a headache I didn’t have it for some time, it was awful… i drunk a lot of water and continue sleeping until that feeling dissapear.. it was late when I got up, that I just had a chance to eat a little, and then went to buy some stuff to Aliss..In the evening, some friends came over and again almost the same story repetead…with the difference that my body was not taken any bit of wine, so Ana had the honor to drink it for both… she almost finish this 2L bottle..

In general, I believe there is nothing like friends.. they make your life easier, enjoying and see it in different perspectives.. hope we have more nights like this…  Love you!.

PD. One advice.. when you drink, take all electronic devices very far from you, otherwise it is dangerous….. guess!

Moving to wordpress…
