My personal best and worst dresses from the Oscars..

27 Feb

This is just based on my personal style and likes.. but my personal best and worst dresses from the Oscars are:

I like this black dress.

This is the best of the night for me

Lovely dress, it looks great on her.

Green is one of my favorite colors!! And Viola looks great on this one.

I love J Lo but this dress, I don't like it at all. Not sure if she wanted to emphatize certain areas, I just don't like it.

Okay, blue, gray and pink shoes??!! naahhh, didn't like it at all

It seems, for me, a wrapped dress.. it's a NO for me.

A little about me when I go shopping: I understand we have trends per season and clothes that are common in certain periods, but I believe, not necessarily those clothes are right for everyone.

When I go shopping, I like some pieces based on what I like, and if there are something trendy that I like, there you go, I will want to get it.  Also, I try to be conscious that sometimes some trendy clothes might not fit  me, so I just choose another option.

The dresses above are the ones that I liked the most and the ones I disliked.

By the way, about Emma’s red dress. I would rather prefer to make it simpler without the giant bow. I still think she looks gorgeous and sweet, but the bow does not convince me at all.

Hope you enjoyed the Oscar’s as much as I did.

Recommend day trip in Costa Rica

24 Feb

If you are thinking for a short day trip in Costa Rica and you are a beach lover. You must read this!!

I have been there three time, and i believe I can repeat it more times. This place I went is a beach about 1.5 hours from Santa Ana, that have white sand and an amazing view.

The place is called “Isla Tortuga”, which means turtle island because the shape of the island resembles a turtle. The beach is only 30 mins from Caldera in the boat I took, or it might take 1.5 hours going in the Catamaran. I totally recommend the boat option though.

The tour I took was Caldera’s tours, and the price is 85 USD considering the pick up from San Jose.

If you want to drive to Caldera, you can do it and leave the car in the restaurant which is in front of that beach. The payment in that case would be only 75 USD.

The first time I went was in the Catamaran and I also liked; however I prefer to spend more time at the beach. The tours in any of the options includes the beverages, fruits for breakfast that are given 30 mins after you get to the island, and also includes the lunch food. Besides it, the caldera tour includes 2 hours of snorkeling.

Super recommended tour. Hope you can try it if you live in Costa Rica or if you come for tourism.

Food and beach in south Peruland

24 Feb

I need to tell you all about the food and the beach during my visit in Peru. Every time I go to Peru, days run out and those do not suffice for everything I want to do.

Peru is recognized for its rich gastronomy so it has dishes from the different departments and regions (Coast, Highland and Tropical). I tried to get some of each region, so you can guess I got some extra weight back with me to Costa Rica.

So, back to the food, those two weeks in Peru I tried dishes such as ceviche, anticuchos, “choritos a la chalaca”, fried Chita (Special fish), etc. Look at them, and try to taste it:

Those dishes above were in a restaurant next to “Embajadores” beach, others in a pub name “ayahuasca” in Barranco, the bohemian district, and others, in a restaurant, a block from my house.

Breakfast, lunch or dinner are important events during the day when you take advantage to spend time with family and talk about everything.

Other ones in another restaurant:

All those dishes were in Huancahuasi restaurant that is about 30km south from Chorillos – Lima

The name dishes are:
– Tiradito de queso,
– Papa a la huancaina ( this is a typical dish that brings the original plate based on a red chilli and the one wish is based on the yellow chilli.. Both of them were mashed as old times using a special stone, we call it “batan”.),
– Ceviche but with this river fish wish is abundant in the hihglands, trout and with artichoke.
– Finally a highland soup, “Patasca”.

While we were waiting for our food, we enjoy a family game always available on those restaurants named “Sapo”(frog). It consist in throwing special and heavy coins into small holes at the top.. Based on the hole, you’ll get points. The maximum point can be gotten if you get the coin to get into the frog mouth which is at the center. It’s really funny!!

As this post title says food and beach, let me leave you with some other beach pictures and a video of the sunset in a beach in the south, name “Santa Maria” beach:

Beauty: face cleansing and face lifting

5 Feb

Well, I just want to share what I usually do every other Sunday to keep my face clean and hydrated.

So far, it’s been working pretty good for me and I love how fresh and vitalize my face skin looks after this. The effect last a while, as always as you keep with the daily care.

Today, I did it on the morning; however I recommend to do it at the afternoon, before bed, as it is recommend for you to leave your face with the product after you take the mask away.

From the list below, the only expensive product is the Sating Smooth, which cost me around 40-60 dollars (20 000 – 30 000 colones), I got it in Super Salon, Santa Ana-Costa Rica. The good thing is that it comes 3 masks for 3 applications; in my case that would be 3 months.

The other products you can get it in any market in Costa Rica. I usually get those in Auto Mercado.

Step 1 – Exfoliate your face with the product you usually use. This time I used Neutrogena, but as you see, it is almost over, so I would look for a new product to try.

Just put the product over your face and rub it in circles, then rinse it with warm water.

Step 2 – Put over your dried face, the mud pud bundantly, avoiding eyes and lips.  Usually each package last me for two applications, so you can use half.  Keep the product over your face until you feel it totally dry.

This product will help you cleaning your face from the everyday pollution. Also, this will give a kind of super clean and healthy look to your skin.

Step 3 – Rinse your face with warm water. This is important to open your pores which is good for the next product to better penetrate to your skin.

You can use some cotton pads to help it. I usually use full water, and only at the end use the cotton pad.

Step 4 – If this is a weekly face cleansing, i usually put my collagen cream from L’oreal or my Hydratant from La Roche-Possay (Effaclar M for oily skin).

If this is my monthly one, then I use the Satin Smooth mask, which is the one I am showing in the pic. You just need to put it, and leave it over your face for about 25 minutes, and then take it out and put it back on the package, as you will re-use it after 24 hours. In the second use, you can take all the liquid in the package and rub it over your face and neck. Remember you won’t rinse your face after this.

Hope you enjoy it and you decide to try it!

Important: Always read the details of the product, to check if you are not allergic to it. Or try it first in a small part of your skin.

Those products are the ones I used, and I personally haven’t had any problems.
