Counting down the minutes for New Year’s Eve – Must Do List

30 Dec

Well, it seemed it was just yesterday my mom was here in Costa Rica to spend the Holidays together. Now this New Year has almost run out, few accomplishments might not been achieved as desired such as running a half-marathon, and some others are on road, almost ready for the last sprint to reach its end, such as my Portuguese Lessons.  Overall,  I can say it’s been a great year, and my soul feels peaceful,  joyful and grateful for everything.

Right now, we are counting down the minutes for New Year’s Eve and there is a Must-Do list I will need to accomplish at some point this year or by next weekend (the latest), because I will be flying to Peru on January 12th to spend some family time and attending one of my best friend’s weeding and bachelorette party, and those items needs to be arranged .   You see, this is the main reason I was not able to write anything lately, it’s been a little hectic. Besides all the questioning about prioritizing the hobbies, so it’s been quite busy days.

Let me tell you a bit on my Must-Do list.. you might laugh or find this funny, but Hey!! I am a girl too.. 🙂

Must Do (1) – exercising : I decided that among all hobbies, exercising is first!!! Running, Yogin or lifting weight is Okay, I just need to sort it out somehow when do those. I can report I went for I run and finished 5K run with 7.10 mins per KM. Not good as I wished but anyway, I am willing to pay the price for not doing exercises for a bit. Also, towards trying to lose some weight I did some Yoga, which I love it. I found this great youtube video that takes only 40 mins and that really makes you feel like a  true work out. But, the next day after the first attempt, I felt like a truck went over me because all my muscles were soared; however, I feel great and happy.  Today I did it again, so let’s see if I will be the same by tomorrow.  I am adding the link on the youtube video in case you want to try it. It is a 4 videos, within 8-10 mins each ( I am attaching the first two, you can easily get the other 2).

Must Do (2) – Get the party/wedding dresses and accessories. I don’t want to be in Peru and start looking for the dresses, so I need to have it all done. Fortunately, I got the dresses, but missing to accessorize it.. so I will do my best today to close this item.

Must Do (3) – Get the painter to finish the painting in the kitchen.. you see, he started 2 months ago, and only a little piece was missing, but after having the house clean again, i didn’t want it to get it dirty, and now, because of procrastination, I will need to do some cleaning by myself as the maid will not come this week. Lesson Learned-Stop procrastinating!!! Silly me.

Must Do (4) – Get the queratine in my hair and manicure/pedicure .. I told you I am a girl too!! And I just want to look gorgeous, all of us want to.. So I think I need to clean my house like in the next couple of hours in order to not spoil the manicure.. 🙂 Crap!.. having thought about it, just now.  I’ve read and see videos about queratine blow out, I actually had one a year ago, but was not totally sold. Right now, going for the second try, with this product two friends tried and it seemed it worked pretty cool. The product is INOAR, kind of expensive, but it has all the rights in USA also.. and you don’t need to have your hair 3 days without washing it. That was the selling point to try it. Let’s see how it goes… 🙂

Must Do (5) – Go to my friends house (Cin). She just bought a new house so I am going to go for the first time; i’ll need to get a gift or sth. Also I need to give her her scarf, she bought one..  Selling selling, money money..  love it!!

Must Do (6) – Finish my vision board. I KNOW!!! I love the secret too.. and I do believe on Vision Boards and the movement of the energy.  So I was reading Oprah website (i am guilty!, love Oprah –  I love that she focus on the positive things rather the negative ones), so I found this tool which is super cool to create the vision boards, totally recommended…. sharing the link below for you.  This is a demonstration, this month is all love and sharing..

Must Do (7) – Finish reading my Book and knitting two scarves and beading two bracelets … I started reading a new book yesterday, from my favorite writer. I am half way, so for sure I will finish it within today and tomorrow. Also I have these two yarns I started and need to finish them, I just don’t bare to see those uncompleted scarves. And the bracelets!!.. well, a friend asked me for a couple of those, so I need to take those next week at some point because going to Peru.

Must Do (8) – Blogging.. In process.. I just enjoy writing, so it is a nice satisfaction to do it; besides while I write I enjoy this beautiful sigh seeing..This picture below is my view from my balcony where I am sitting, taking today at 11:30 AM. What else can I ask for with breathtaking daily view. I am very fortunate..

I am sure I have more Must Dos.. but right now, so far those are the ones I need to handle. So it’s time I start with some of those. I will share with you the outputs of some of those separately if possible, so you have the details. Enjoy your day and all the blessing.

Talk to you tomorrow!!

Hobbies – Good or Bad or Prioritizing

27 Dec

As you may notice,  I haven’t been blogging for about a month. The main reasons that have been keeping me apart of this are to re-encounter with family hobbies such as knitting and beading, and the constant hobbie of reading.  So, when thinking about all the things I love to do, and listing them all, I realized that I have a broad list which make me think: “are hobbies good?, bad?, should we prioritize them?”.  Should I need to plan what hobbies and when to do them in order to not neglect them.    I do really enjoy each of those, those gives me different satisfactions, so how to decide.

So for you to know a little bit about all that broad of hobbies, let me tell you a little bit of each one:

– Number exercising regarding if it is running or doing yoga or gym; of course I rather prefer a combination of all of those, or do one each day.  Anyway, I already agreed with my friend, A, to start running again, and retaking our goal of doing half-marathon, so it seems I will need to have discipline to accomplish it. Otherwise this will be just a wish like it was this year. Buuuuu.

-Then we have reading, I have a pile of 5 books waiting for me. I see them and I hear little voices telling READ ME READ ME.. don’t be lazy!!!

-Knitting ..I had a 2 months project that was unfinished. I was really neglecting it, until I started again with it and did good progress. After posting to FB my progress, a good friend of mine with whom I share many similar hobbies, mentioned me about some pending projects on knitting. She finished those ones and then showed me how to do them.  People really love those scarf and what started as a trying project to see how those ended up, finished up on selling the scarves.  My friend sold lots of it, and let me tell you I also sell few ones which will allow me to continue buying new materials for new projects and creations. The lilac one was the initial creation I was working, in my family, everybody knows how to knit, and many of them are dedicated on knitting.. My lovely grandma knit all day as a hobbie, she loves to keep herself busy.

– Beading…This is a new. I wanted to create some Xmas gifts for my family in Peru, so I asked my friend to show me how to do a couple of things I saw on internet.  After starting creating those,  It became like you want to continue creating new things and more and more. There is no limit for creating, only the money to buy all the materials. Therefore, I sold 3 of my creations in order to recover part of the investment and buy more material.  At the end, i am going to Peru on January 12th, so I still have time to create the gifts.   It feels so cool, when you do something and then someone else wants to use it.

– Lastly but not least, I love to go out with friends for dinner, for partying or a good talk.  I had had many party weekends which has keeping me away on my weekend long run for some months. So maybe I just need to be balance.

At this point, I am not sure how I am going to manage it, for sure I need to go back to exercising considering all the extra food I indulge myself lately because of the holidays.  So next steps are: 1.  Go back to exercise yes or yes, and do the half-marathon plan. 2. Clean the fridge and keep healthy food.. so no more gratifiable holidays meals. (I will need to do some efforts in Peru in order to keep myself on no eating much).  3. Accommodate additional projects on the free time, taking into account I have to work and my Portuguese classes will start soon.  So I will keep you posted on how things are going and how each day is evolving.

Reports on today: Did 5k run, 10 mins yoga and then work, and I think ate more than the calories I spent. So dinner will be something light.

Let me know what do you recommend, what should I paying more attention to… suggestions?

To the moon and back review

26 Dec

As you already may know, one of my latest favorites writers is Jill Mansell, an UK writer. Jill Mansell books are not common in Costa Rica Libraries, so when I went to Kansas for a weekend, I took immediate advantage to stop by on my favorite library, Barnes and Nobles and look for all available books that I haven’t read yet.

I also needed to get some books from Jody Picoult for my sister, she love her, so it was two great excuses to stop by. The two new books I got are: Take a chance on me and To the moon and back. Haven’t read the first one yet, but as soon as I finish it, i will let you know my impressions.

First of all, as typical book from Jill Mansell, those are very clever stories that have unexpected and funny twists.  So far most of the books I’ve read were much of  happy stories on 95% of the reading; however this book have a sad beginning….. not expected huh.   But..for love  and happy ending lovers , don’t be afraid, that this book is funny, lovely and with a happy ending.

Ellie, our main character of the book, will show us the pain, the deny, the craziness, the acceptance and also, that life always bring great rewards that will kind of make up the hardest pain or loneliness we went through when we lose someone.  I am not saying that you have to have painful experiences to have joy and happiness, but I mean, if something happens that will cause you pain, there is a reason which is unknown for us that it is happening, and that also pain will go away and bright days will come soon, bringing you new and great experiences to life, that we will value and be more grateful for because of the pain we experienced.

I believe, I can identified sort of with the character, but still awaiting for my better half.. 🙂

On the other side, we have the cute guy and funny one that is terribly in love on Ellie that because of the different reasons, he haven’t said it out loud, but when the opportunity comes he is still feeling the same and going for it.  This is the character, we all women are expecting to encounter and that many will wait very very veeeeeery long.   Anyway, reading it is like experiencing it which brings temporary satisfaction. Would it be the reason I love Jill Mansell books that much?..

Besides that, You’ll have all type of comical characters in the book that will entertain you and for sure give you some laughters.

Overall, from 1-5 on the lovely stories range, I give 4 to this book.. Still Rumor has it is my number 5.

I do really recommend this light and easy to read story. Let know if you read it and if you like it.
